punakaikai (pancake rocks):April 20 & 21

The Pancake rocks
The blow holes werent blowing at the time but the next night they were going off like crazy
The surge pool

The sunset the first night was the ideal tropical sunset with palm trees and everything

This is our hostel, for 29NZ a night! it was directly on the beach and it was so perfectly cute
Looking off the porch of the Hostel

thats right they had Jenga :) we met some more awesome people that night, 2 from california, 2 from Ireland, 4 from Germany, and 5 from England it was way cool

On the 20th Caroline and I went on a 4hr hike that looped up one river and down another, the water was oddly green but very transparent
The trunk of this tree had a huge hole in it and i was looking at all the spider webs and Caroline took the picture at the correct time

I left my mark on a rock that had other names and drawings on it
this is where the trail went from paved and flat to crazy steep and muddy
this fan tail followed us for a good 15 min (note to mom, ben and gwen: bring ur bird books)

The rockwork in the country is beautiful!
